Travel bag packing hint.
Here’s one of our favorite packing tips. We learned it from a former flight attendant who’d
been everywhere. Wear disposable clothes on your next long-haul flight.
If you’re like us, by the time you get off a twelve-hour plane
ride, you want to burn the clothes you’re wearing. Not only do you
never to wear those clothes again, you don’t even
want to put them back in your travel bag.
The solution is
simple. Wear clothes for air travel that you were going to give or
throw away anyway. When you arrive in your destination, fold your
flight clothes and place them in the waste basket in your hotel room.
Take a nice hot shower, and then take a brand new outfit from your
suitcase.
The great thing about this is that you get to start
your trip with a bag that has one less outfit in it. Which means that
1) your bag is that much lighter, and 2) if you want to buy a new outfit
during your trip, you’ll have space for it in your bag.
So the
next time the Goodwill truck is making a pickup in your area, ask
yourself if there’s something in the pile that would make a good travel
outfit. Then, set it aside for your next trip. It’s actually very
liberating.
