Great views and Hawaiian history on Kauai's Mahaulepu Heritage Trail.
Visitors to Kauai from the mainland are usually wide awake while the rest of the island is sleeping in. Since most stores and attractions don't open for hours, the best early morning pursuit is a sunrise beach walk. And one of the best is the Mahaulepu Heritage Trail, which winds from Shipwrecks Beach to Kawailoo Bay.
To get there, take Poipu Road past the entrance to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort. Turn right on Ainako Street and park at the lot where the road dead ends at the beach.

Great Deals on Alaska Cruises.
There's not much worse than being sick on vacation.
We've been pretty lucky in this regard. Only once, have we been truly ill; on an Alaska cruise, which, all things considered, is a pretty convenient place to be sick. One of us drank wine and spent four days kayaking, bicycling, and buzzing over glaciers in helicopters. Two of us didn't drink wine and spent four days in the head, wanting to die.

Street food in Naples, Italy.
Everyone knows that Naples has great pizza. Cooked in a wood-burning stove for 90 seconds at around 900 degrees Fahrenheit, Pizza Napoletana has been awarded DOC status by the Italian government, like Parma Ham or Chianti. It's the bar by which all other pizzas are judged.
Surprisingly portable, it can be folded into a cone and eaten on the run, when necessary. Da Michele and Di Matteo vie for top pizza honors.
