Afloat in Amsterdam.

What is it about being on the water?  Watching the world go by from the bow of a boat just never seems to get old.  And even things that are irritating on land – traffic jams, neighbors – are pleasant distractions when you’re afloat.  

There are several cities where you can stay on a houseboat or barge instead of at a hotel.  And there are real advantages.  Most floating accommodations offer a lot more living space than a conventional hotel room.  And usually, you’re just steps away from the city’s main attractions.
