Hawaii's best hot dogs at Puka Dog.
There's plenty of good food on Kauai, but not a lot of inexpensive choices. Puka Dog in the Poipu Village Shopping Center isn't exactly cheap - $7 is pretty steep for a hot dog - but it is one of the few places on the island where you can eat lunch for about ten bucks. Plus, it's enjoyable.
In Hawaiian, "puka" means hole, and that's the gimmick here. A conventional bun is impaled using a device that looks like something from the Spanish Inquisition. The process toasts the inside of the bun and creates a receptacle for the dog and its condiments. Which makes the whole meal highly portable.

Amazing cocktails and tapas on the beach in Waikiki.
Looking for a first-rate cocktails, appetizers, and ocean-front sunsets? Head to RumFire restaurant located in the Sheraton Waikiki.
If you come for cocktails or an early dinner, you'll catch some of the best Diamond Head views in town. But make sure you're thirsty. The cocktails here are so good, you'll want to try more than one.
Aptly named, RumFire has one of the largest selections of rum, and a very eclectic cocktail menu. We started with a Cucumber Lavendar Mojito and a Tradewinds, made with rum, sweet and sour, watermelon and lychee liqueur. Both were delicious and refreshing.

Sicily comes to Waikiki.
If you're like us, it won't take long for you to get your fill of plate lunches, Ahi tuna, and kahlua pork. Once you've reached saturation, head for Taormina, and delicious Italian food in the heart of Waikiki.
We stumbled across this little gem after passing all the packed-with-tourists restaurants on Waikiki Beach Walk.
Although we didn't have reservations and it was prime dining time, we were quickly seated in the enclosed, outdoor patio. It wasn't the best table in the house, but under the circumstances, we were glad to have it. And our waitress couldn't have been more accommodating.
