Send Your Credit Card Company a Bill.

If you traveled outside the country between February 1, 1996 and November 8, 2006, chances are that you recently got a packet in the mail from the U.S. District Court.  Turns out that the Foreign Transaction Fee that Visa, MasterCard and Diner’s Club charged you to use your card abroad wasn’t strictly speaking, legal.

So now they have to give $336 million back.  Which depending on how much you spent, could be worth your trouble.

If you return the Easy Refund, you’ll receive $25.  If you charged a minimum of $2,500 abroad, you can file for an estimated 1% of your total transactions.  If you traveled extensively and are willing to provide detailed information, you could receive 1-3% back.
