In Seattle? Don't miss Teatro ZinZanni.

In 1992, Norman Langill discovered a turn-of-the-century Belgian spiegeltent in Barcelona. With its hand-carved wooded booths, mirrored walls and stained glass, the tent hosted cabarets, circuses, and celebrations across Europe.

Six years later, the charming spiegeltent moved to Seattle and became home to Teatro ZinZanni, an innovative melange of vaudeville, cirque, music, and comedy that played to sold-out crowds for the next 14 months. When the show lost its downtown location, it moved to San Francisco, where celebrities like Joan Baez and Maria Muldaur joined the cast.

ZinZanni returned to Seattle in 2002, and six years later, it's still going strong. The three-hour show is punctuated by a four-course dinner from Northwest uber-Chef Tom Douglas of Dahlia Lounge, Etta's Seafood, and Palace Kitchen fame.

The new show, A Rosa de Rio, has a South American vibe, thanks to sultry Brazilian singer Paula Gelly and a score that offers samba and bossa nova aplenty. Also new are a trio of Parisian tumblers and a Ukranian contortionist. The menu has even been updated with a few nods to America del Sur.

If you're visiting Seattle and you haven't been to Teatro ZinZanni, we highly recommend it. The magical venue, amazing entertainers, and excellent food combine to create a really memorable night out.

Tickets start at $104 and are available eight weeks in advance at http://dreams.zinzanni.org/tickets.htm
