Budapest Spring Festival Program Announced.
Prague Spring is the big daddy of Eastern European music festivals. But Budapest is providing stiff competition with their Spring Festival, which kicks off this year on March 14 – two months before Prague Spring.
From the Bayerisches Staatsorchester conducted by Kent Nagano to the Blind Boys of Alabama, there are more than two hundred concerts, dance performance, film screenings, and plays performed in the new Bela Bartok National Concert Hall, historic churches, and the beautiful Hungarian State Opera House.

How Low Does An Auction Have To Go
We’ve been to Croatia twice and would love to go back again. So when I saw that Abercrombie & Kent was selling a Croatia package in the American Express Going Once auction, I was kind of excited. Until I looked at the details.The trip had two nights in Split, three nights in Dubrovnik, and roundtrip air in economy class from New York. The retail price was listed at $13,570 per couple, which seemed high to me for five nights anywhere, much less in Croatia.
So I thought I’d investigate to see how low the price would have to go before it became a great deal.

Where to sample Absinthe legally.
Absinthe – illegal in the United States and most of Europe since 1915 – is making a big comeback. Although reports of its hallucinogenic properties are wildly exaggerated, heavy users, including van Gogh, Manet, and Oscar Wilde, gave the wormwood-based spirit an undeniable cachet.
For years, the Czech Republic and Spain were the easiest places to sample the "Green Fairy," but many of the laws banning the drink have recently been overturned. So nowadays, there are a number of places where you can indulge.
